Obession of the Day: January 8, 2012

My past few days have been filled with dance. First, I went to see a few of the very last performances of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. I was drawn to Merce's work through two friends; one who is a dancer with the company, and one who is a dance enthusiast and performing arts librarian. I've never experienced anything like the performance at the Park Avenue Armory, where the audience is in constant movement along with the dancers, and the music comes at you from all sides.

Then, I went to see Pina.

And now all I want to do is grow my hair waist-length and wear silk gowns absolutely everywhere.
