I'm back from the conventions! (Or, as we fondly came to know them, the convenshs.) Here's the buzzwords video I made with Katy Steinmetz at the DNC, to complement our RNC one!

Working On: September 1, 2012

Jim Fields and I just went to the Republican National Convention for TIME. We made tons of videos, including wrap-ups of all the speeches and a mini-series of Delegates of the Day. On the last day, reporter Katy Steinmetz and I were pretty punchy, so we headed over to the Tampa Times Forum to play a game with people. This is what we made:

Next: Charlotte!

Obsession of the Day: August 25, 2012

I just... this is... it's too much. I have watched each of this family's videos dozens of times and am pretty sure I want to marry that guy and make Depeche Mode covers with them forever. Judging from the millions of views, I can't be the only one. This makes me feel as squishy as that guy who sang "Home" with his daughter a couple years ago.

Other obsession of the day: the Tampa weather forecast.

On the Side: August 22, 2012

I don't have tons of free time, but when I do, I tend to spend it visiting friends and working on personal projects. I visited my brilliant friend Lacy earlier this summer, when she was well into her first year as a bookstore owner and operator. While she worked one afternoon, I shot some stuff in the shop with my DSLR. Then I had her answer some interview questions, and I asked my friend Leah Paul, composer extraordinaire, to create a soundtrack. This is what we made!

A few things are cookin' at work these days. I'm editing a video that I helped shoot last week with Gillian Laub, who is a family friend of the terrific lady who runs this camp, nestled deep in the cell-phone-receptionless community of Lackawaxen, PA. The campers, kids between ages 7-12 with special needs, were wonderful.

I'm also gearing up to attend the DNC and the RNC and produce videos. I'm on a desperate hunt for Republican-friendly work wear that holds up in Tampa heat. I will certainly keep you posted.
